Arno Kroner is a multidisciplinary strategist, designer, educator, and practitioner working at the intersection of technology, culture, and human experience.
Over more than three decades, his work has moved across corporate strategy, finance, digital media, visual arts, education, creative development, and health . While these fields may appear diverse, a consistent thread runs through them: understanding complex systems, finding patterns and connections, and translating them into structures, experiences, and tools that people can use.
His educational foundation in mathematics, physics, and business provided an initial analytical and conceptual framework, followed by an MBA wiht a major in investment finance from the University of Kansas. He worked in strategy at Gemini Consulting in Amsterdam and later as Finance Manager for The Walt Disney Company, overseeing film acquisitions, distribution, and strategic operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
He subsequently moved into the creative and digital world in Los Angeles, founding a design and visual effects firm that worked with clients including Digital Domain, General Motors, Disney, Warner Bros., and Mattel. His work spanned animation, visual effects, digital production, and interactive media , with a particular focus on the intersection of storytelling and technology. He became a certified Maya instructor and developed expertise in Houdini and procedural visual effects. He later served as a creative director and taught animation, visual effects, and interdisciplinary media at Otis College of Art and Design and Woodbury University. He was also active in the VFX community, including running the FJORG animation marathon at SIGGRAPH and working with Blender.org as story consultant. From 2006 to 2010, he returned to Disney Feature Animation in Talent Development, working with and coaching artists on films including Bolt and The Princess and the Frog.
A parallel interest in human performance and the relationship between mind, body, and environment grew from years of endurance sport and outdoor work, including ultramarathons such as UTMB, multiple Ironman races, and volunteer service in ski patrol and search and rescue . This interest eventually led him into clinical medicine. He earned graduate and doctoral degrees in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Emperor's College and became a board-certified functional medicine practitioner, developing an international clinical practice ↗.
Today, these experiences increasingly converge. Arno develops digital and educational tools, works across design, animation, interactive technology and creative strategy , writes and reviews health content, and contributes clinical expertise to medical AI.
Rather than belonging to a single discipline, Arno's practice is built around moving between them - bringing analytical rigor to creative problems, creative thinking to complex systems, and a human perspective to technology.
